This is the newest product from Realtyna Software Team. It enables the webmasters to transfer their joomla websites to a new server. All you need to do is providing some information for the component to do the job for you.
The component has 3 sections.
1- Source Information
In this part the component asks for your mysql host, username, password and database name on the source server. It retrieves the data from joomla configuration.php file and you don't need to change the information showed.
2- Destination Information
The data you need to provide for the component will be destination mysql host, username, password and database name. It also asks for the destination joomla folder. If you are planning to install joomla in a directory, you should write the name of the directory here. Otherwise you should leave it blank. It also asks you for the destination address which is the address your site is accessible via web. If you are moving to a new domain, it will be the name of the new domain and if it is a temporary server untill your dns is ready, it can be some IP addresses.
Then it asks you for site name, mail from and mail from name to configure the configuration.php file on the new server
3- FTP Information
The last data you should provide for the component is the ftp information including destination FTP server, username, password and the folder in which the files should be FTPed. You must provide the destination folder if your site is not in the root folder of your ftp.
How does the component work?
Good question! The component will make a backup of your mysql database and sends it to the destination server via FTP. It then compresses all the files on your site using the pclzip library provided by Vincent Blavet and then sends it to the destination server via FTP. It then creates 2 files for restoring the database on the destination server and extracting the zipped file on the destination server.
After the files are sent successfully, the component will execute the two mentioned files on the remote server and after the process is complete, you will have an exact copy of your current site on the destination server. Piece of cake! Isn't it.
